We are here in the final week of preparing
for WLC. God has been so good to allow us to be a part of this opportunity.
Today was very stressful. We had confusion and miscommunication but by God’s
grace, it all worked itself out. We are poised and ready accept for a couple
details. Our team is a little tired and discouraged but straining to stay focused
on the goal! Tonight I spent a lot of time on communicating with Amber to get
the last minute details ironed out. Everything looks ready to go.

Opportunity Knocks...many times!
It has been a while since we wrote
in this journal. So much has happened and so much will be happening.
Last Saturday, I visited the
ministry in Keeseville. We had a great time of fellowship. The leader who
taught that night taught on the rewards of being faithful in this life. Two
unsaved teens came in that night. I sat in on one of the small groups with the
new students. One of these teens opened up about how he had hit rock bottom so
he came to church to turn his life around. We shared the Gospel with him and
encouraged him. He didn’t make a decision but we are praying for him to choose
Jesus soon! I was able to encourage Jim, the leader, afterwards and build a
relationship with him.
This week has been intense planning
and preparation for Word Leadership Conference. We are about 75%
ready for it to happen. Last night we looked at the rooms we’ll be using. It
was so cool to envision all those students and children who will be encouraged
and built up in their faith. Maybe, some will make decisions for salvation, put
away old sins or many will be encouraged to keep on keeping on! God is going to
do exciting things there.
Through all of this, we have been
challenged with the reality that every opportunity counts! Another thing God is
teaching us that in the hard times and the good times, keep the focus on Him
and others. The moment we become self-focused is the moment when all caves in
because we have confined God to our circumstantial box.
God help us all to press on in
our pursuit of you! May you be honored in all that we do! We love you
God.

Transitioning
As you know, I have a new role in the club ministry. About a month ago, my role changed to being a missionary to the Westport Ministry as well as the Keeseville Ministry. Last Saturday, Hammy began leading the Westport Team. It is exciting to see God working in his life. I am exciting for what God has in store for Westport this year. This weekend, I'll be visiting the ministry in Keeseville and encouraging them.
This month God has already provided $370 of support! Right now, we are at about $300/$6000 of our monthly support goal. God is so good and has been showing me how great he truly is in my life.

New Born Brother
For about 3 weeks, Ron has been coming to youth group. He is a
senior in high school who comes from a Catholic background. The first time he
came, Steve, a youth leader had the opportunity to share the Gospel with him. Ever
since he came, he has been asking questions and thinking through the Gospel. I
am humbled to share that this past weekend, Ron began a relationship with God.
He needed encouragement and direction because he was going back to a non-Christian
home. Everyone gathered around him and prayed for him. All this happened while I
was visiting the Freeman family in ME. I am so excited to be back at Westport this
weekend and see my new born brother in the faith! What a privilege God has
given us to live every day for His glory.

Faithful Every Day
Wow! There is
so much going on at one time. Danielle and I are going to MIT this summer,
raising support, finding missionary housing for a year and getting ready to
move to a whole new area and minister. This weekend in Maine has been a great
time to think through and process many of these things. I am reminded over and
over through Quiet Time that as long as we are faithful to our God, we will see
him to extraordinary things. In Acts, the passage we are studying for Quiet
Time, Luke wrote down that it was God who was working. It was God who was
working through human men who He chose to lead the early church. All he asks us
to do is be faithful with what he as give us today. It is an encouraging
thought to know that he has planned for victory!

Serving the Server at WLC
Every 3 years Word of Life brings
in all their world directors for a week-long conference. It is a family
occasion and many of the children and teens come as well. This year IDP is in charge
of organizing and running a conference for the children and teens while the
adults are have their conference. For the past two weeks we have been planning
and organizing ourselves quiet intensely. The past couple days, we were able to
sit down with two woman who have planned many a conference and learn from them
a little about putting a conference together! It is so exciting to know that we’ll
be reaching lives of missionary children and teens that are normally reached.
They are the ones giving day in and day out. What a great opportunity to invest
in their life!
